EUPHYIA TECH LTD

Role in the project: Technology and tool developer for building energy performance and sustainability assessment

About: Euphyia Tech is a spin-off from Frederick University, established in 2021. The company specializes in advanced solutions for assessing the sustainability and smartness of the built environment. Euphyia Tech develops cutting-edge web and mobile applications, providing innovative tools to enhance building performance and align with decarbonization goals.

Responsibility: Euphyia Tech is responsible for the development of software tools integrated with the EU Kernel EPC Engine to support the ISO 52000 standards implementation. It also contributes to user experience research, tool testing, and ensuring the applicability of its solutions across EU Member States. Additionally, it contributes to the development and integration of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) Kernel, enabling advanced smartness assessment functionalities within the project framework.

People involved: The team includes engineers, researchers, and software developers with expertise in sustainability, smart technologies, and energy performance assessments. Key contributors may include executives with backgrounds in R&D and innovative building technologies.

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING COUNCIL GREECE

About:  Sustainable Building Council Greece (SBC GREECE) is an independent, non-profit, organization and the official member of WGBC in Greece. Our vision is to establish a sound sustainable culture and behavior throughout the diverse nature of the built environment stakeholders in Greece. Our mission is to lead and facilitate the transformation of the built environment and its communities in Greece, to plan, develop, construct, maintain and operate sustainably.  SBC Greece strategy is deployed in three main pillars: Research & Education, Certification & Rating Systems, Consultation & Advocacy.

The members of SBC GREECE comprise of companies, institutions and individuals. EPB CENTER B.V.

Role in the project: EPB Center is a critical technical partner in openBEP4EU, focusing on advancing the implementation and practical adoption of the CEN/ISO EPB standards, notably supporting the development and market adoption of the EU Kernel EPC Engine. EPB Center spearheads activities related to the establishment of the EPC Support Center and the creation of value-added services for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). Additionally, EPB Center plays a key role in developing open-source software documentation and training materials for the EU Kernel EPC Engine and establishing standardisation guidelines for innovative inspection procedures.

About: Key contributor to advancing building performance standards and practices, playing its supporting role in guiding the implementation of the EPBD at national level across the EU’s Member States. Our support stems directly from the overarching work of our group of EPB experts that focuses on supporting the uptake and further development of the CEN/ISO set of Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) standards, providing tangible pathways for the transposition and implementation of the EPBD at Member State level. This is achieved by closely collaborating with policymakers, stakeholders, and technical bodies to create synergies that lead to practical, impactful and long-lasting outcomes.

Responsibility: Leadership establishing the EPC Support Team (EPCST) and promoting the adoption of enhanced EPC tools. Supporting the development and market adoption of the EU Kernel EPC Engine. Developing training materials and technical documentation for the EU Kernel EPC Engine. Supporting the creation of standardisation guidelines for innovative building performance assessment procedure. Providing policy recommendations to foster the adoption of harmonised EPB standards and addressing its extensive network of EU and national public authorities. The company offers advisory services for energy-saving and green energy generation projects, including the structuring and placement of equity and debt market products as well as sustainability-themed funds. In financial services, EnerSave provides corporate finance and securitization services, establishing securitization compartments to refinance ESG and sustainability-based cash flows through green bonds.

EnerSave offers “As-A-Service” solutions for various market participants, including ESCOs, aggregators, project developers, and technology providers. About:  The European Building Automation and Controls Association (eu.bac) represents the interests of the manufacturers in the field of building automation and controls. As the voice of the industry, we advocate for policies advancing innovation in energy efficiency, smart building technologies and the health and comfort of building users. Our vision is a world where everyone lives in buildings that are smart, decarbonised, and efficient. In addition, eu.bac deals with technical issues of the sector and standardization. Finally, through eu.bac Cert, we certify products such as room controllers ensuring their contribution to enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings.

Tool Development: Assisting in creating compliance checklists and standardized procedures to improve the reliability and usability of EPCs. Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as a liaison to promote the project outcomes among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and regulatory bodies. Technical Contribution: Providing insights and data related to BACS integration to support the development of the EU Kernel EPC Engine and the Sustainable Design Data Hub.

EUROPEAN GREEN CITIES

About: European Green Cities is a non-profit organisation that strive to help alleviate the climate crisis by developing CO2-neutral cities and neighborhoods across Europe. We help municipalities and citizen-organizations to develop innovation projects, facilitate stakeholder processes, carry out analysis, implement best practice, train in sustainable urban development and disseminate. We initiate new project proposals and EU-applications, and help put the team of partners, cities, organisations, companies and consultants together. European Green Cities also manages a network of cities to ensure collaboration and share knowledge across borders.

Responsibility: EGC, as organisation expert in Dissemination & Communication, will act as OpenBEP4EU s D&G manager, leading the organisation of activities & events to disseminate and communicate the project results. Among these activities, EGC will deliver the Dissemination and Communication Plan (DCP) describing dissemination & communication strategy, activities and implementation instruments.

Role in the project: Represent and express ESCO’s views and needs with regards to the OpenBEP4EU project.

About: EFIEES (the European Federation for Intelligent Energy Efficiency Services) is a Brussels-based European association, that represents at EU level private energy service companies (ESCOs) and their national associations. EFIEES’ members are located in 9 EU countries and represent over 100.000 professionals committed to the design and implementation of energy efficiency measures in public and private buildings, industrial facilities, as well as to the efficient operation of district heating & cooling networks.

Responsibility: EFIEES will represent ESCOS in the project and be engaged in the following tasks:  promote methodologies for primary benefits and co-benefits), set up of EPC support team, promote EPC uptake, improve data accessibility (for services providers), publicity and communication strategy implementation, communication & dissemination of projects’ results and Knowledge transfer, policy recommendations.
