MyEnergia, a regional energy supplier, has provided a Letter of Engagement for the purposes of OpenBEP4EU, granting access to data from a selection of residential and commercial buildings currently under its service.

At present, MyEnergia supplies electricity to approximately 140 residential buildings and 125 commercial sites across the Murcia region.

Joven Futura Neighbourhood – Residential Validation Case

The Joven Futura neighbourhood consists of four independent residential buildings, each eight stories high, with 30 flats per building — totalling 120 flats and housing approximately 350 residents. Constructed in 2006, the development spans a total area of 6,500 m². All units are powered exclusively by electricity, with an estimated annual consumption of 400 MWh and a corresponding energy cost of €76,000 per year.

Every residence is equipped with individual smart electricity meters, and a number of flats have already integrated smart thermostats to monitor and control indoor climate. This makes the neighbourhood an ideal test site for evaluating the impact of smart technologies on residential energy performance.

Magalia Business Center – Commercial Validation Case

The Magalia Business Center, established in 2004, is another major office complex located in Murcia. It hosts approximately 650 employees and covers a total area of 7,800 m². Like the other cases, the building is powered solely by electricity, with a total annual energy consumption of 260 MWh and an electricity cost of €36,500.

The site benefits from building-level smart metering and is partially equipped with smart thermostats and sensors that monitor temperature and lighting conditions, supporting energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Smart metering is implemented at the building level, with various smart thermostats and environmental sensors measuring temperature and luminance, already in place, enabling detailed energy monitoring and management.
