OpenBEP4EU is kicking-off in Athens!

A new generation of BEPs is wanted!

When you invite three different companies to make an energy certificate for the same building, you will probably end up with three totally different results. Documenting a building’s energy performance is complex. And, for political reasons, the Building Energy Performance (BEP) certificates have been oversimplified, resulting in uncertain results without adding the sufficient value for people wanting to pay for them.

In the OpenBEP4EU project, the nine partners have come together to develop a new, open BEP model,  prepare tools and education, so that the certificates can support the Zero Emission Target in 30/10-1/11 2024 at the kick-off meeting in Athens, the first steps were taken to develop an open model that can make EU member states’ life easier through providing a common kernel for the many different systems that exist today. This will synchronise the BEP certificates and also open for investments across borders, as the documentation of the buildings is then being harmonised.
